He was educated in Greenville City Schools and graduated from Greenville High School in 1956. He was an electrical lineman and he served in Vietnam in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. He was a communicant of The Church of The Good Shepherd in Cashiers, N.C. He was a life member of the American Legion and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
He is survived by his wife, Flora Taylor Smith, and his stepchildren: Sheila Barton (Bill), Jeanna Stille, Brayton Cass Davis, Jr., Anna Phillips, Beverly Moss and Miriam Michelle Davis.
His funeral will be held with military honors at Springwood Cemetery in Greenville, S.C. on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 2:00PM. The graveside service will be officiated by The Reverend Allison Schultz.
