Joyce Guidera

Born on September 10, 1943 in Colerain, North Carolina, Joyce was the daughter of the late Nellie and John Holloman. She lived in Washington, D.C., and Greenville, South Carolina, before spending many years in New Jersey. Following her retirement, she and her husband, Neil, returned to South Carolina, where they enjoyed their later years.

She was known for her warmth, strength, and deep devotion to her family, always putting others before herself and creating a home filled with love. She also cherished several lifelong friendships that remained meaningful and dear to her throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Neil Guidera, and her son, Joe Guidera.

Joyce is lovingly remembered by her children: Scott Clark (Belinda), Derrick Clark (Cathy), Mark Guidera (Gina), Neil Guidera (Samantha), and Karen Rockwell. She is also remembered by her daughter-in-law, Sara Guidera, her sister Linda Biggs, as well as two brothers Allen and Danny Holloman. Joyce was a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren and was blessed with many great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.

Before Neil's passing, Joyce cherished the many years they spent traveling together in their RV, both exploring the country and enjoying local camping trips. One of her greatest joys was their annual trips to Aruba each Thanksgiving, a tradition that brought her happiness and special time with friends and family. She also treasured the many summers spent at the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where family gatherings created lasting memories for generations.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609 on Friday, May 15th at 10:30 AM, with the family receiving friends 30 minutes prior.

Joyce’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
