

After graduating Hollywood High School in Saluda County and Draughon’s Business College, Julia spent thirty-five years working for the Internal Revenue Service. Following retirement, she served her church, Francis Asbury Methodist, as secretary/treasurer, and took great joy in babysitting her grandchildren and line-dancing with the Alley Cats through Senior Action.
Julia was married to James Wayne Teasley for 57 years until his passing in 2013. She is survived by her daughter Pat Robertson (Marsh), son Wayne Teasley (Nancy), grandchildren, Evans McClintock, Mary-Neel McClintock, Thomas Teasley (Molly), Bradley Teasley, and multiple nieces and nephews.
The youngest of 11 children, Julia was predeceased by siblings Herman Cockrell (Pearl), Harold Cockrell, Wilber Cockrell (Beulah), Clyde Cockrell (Patsy), Marvin Cockrell, Horace Cockrell, Robert Cockrell (Kay), Ann Evans (Dave), Geneva Shuler (Ernest), and an infant sister.
Julia spent the past 7 years residing at The Gardens at Eastside, where the staff provided excellent care and loved her like family. Julia was given the title of Ambassador for her willingness to help other residents when needed. Wren Hospice was also very helpful as Julia made her journey home.
A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Mackey at Century Drive, 311 Century Dr. Greenville, SC 29607 on Sunday, February 18th at 3:00 pm. Visitation will immediately follow the service. A private burial will take place in Saluda, SC.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
