

He attended Clemson University and was the former owner of The Stover Company, an independent insurance agency. He was a past president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Greenville, SC, the Cancer Society of Greenville County, and Beaux Arts. He was also a member of the Poinsett Club, The Cotillion, and First Presbyterian Church. Early in his career, he worked as a mechanical engineer for Lockwood Greene, Spartanburg, SC, as a sales representative for Marshall & Williams, a textile machinery manufacturer, Greenville, SC and as a yacht broker for Charles Irwin Yacht Sales, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Laddie is survived by his wife, Anne H. Stover, his daughter, Grayson Stover and husband, Nick Blastos of Basalt, CO, his son, Mills Stover, wife, Jamie, and grandsons, Noble and Ridley Stover of Greenville, SC. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sue Stover of Simpsonville, SC, his brother-in-law Bob Henry (Louise) of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and his sister-in-law Sarah Holder (Arthur) of Benicia, CA. He was predeceased by his brother, Bill Stover and brother-in-law Carter Henry.
A celebration of life service will be held at Horizon Church, 1070 E. Butler Rd., Greenville, SC on November 8, 2025. Visitation will be at 10:00am and the service at 11:00am.
