Leslie Gail Cooper Heinz

Gail Cooper Heinz, 67, beloved wife of husband, Greg Heinz, entered heaven at McCall Hospice House on Saturday, February 17th, 2018. Born in Knoxville, TN, she was preceded in death by her mother Nell Carson Cooper, and is survived by her father Esthel Lewis Cooper and his wife Sue Cooper of Hustonville, KY, her sister Beverly Hurst of Oneida, TN, her niece Alice Strunk and her husband Roy of Winfield, TN and her great niece Ansley Marcum of Winfield, TN. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Jim Heinz, and his wife Helen, her niece Elizabeth Heinz Swails and her husband Marshall, her niece Rachel Heinz, and her “special nephew” Tyler Martin all of Greenville.

Gail was a graduate of Centre College in Danville, KY, and obtained her Master’s Degree from the University of Tennessee. Her professional career included being a chemist at Michelin Tire and later working in statistical process at JPS Glass Fabrics.

Gail loved planting and tending to her flowers and truly had a green thumb. She was often accompanied in the garden by her devoted Labradors, Sassy and Raven who liked to watch her favorite birds with her. She and Greg enjoyed trips to the coast and points beyond, but most of all enjoyed being together for their thirty-four years of marriage.

The family would like to thank Gail’s nurses at Interim Hospice along with her loving caregiver, Felicia Hagood, for her skill, devotion, and kindness while Gail’s health steadily declined, Gail’s strength was an inspiration to all who knew her and she will be missed by those who loved her, we take comfort in the knowledge that she is now whole and perfect with her heavenly father.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 23rd, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1 Pine Knoll Dr., Greenville with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
