

She was the daughter of Raymond R. Colucci and Mary Ann Sprit Colucci. She attended Belden Grade School and Timken High School, where she was a member of the majorette group, the Rockettes. Lorraine worked as an optician for Dr. Leonard Stein in Canton. She later moved to join her sister, Phyllis, in Atlanta, Georgia, where she was an optician for Dr. George Stephens at Lenox Square. She later opened her own optical shop, The Looking Glass, at Sprayberry Crossing Shopping Center in East Cobb County, Georgia, in those days becoming a rare female business owner. After selling her business some years later, Lorraine became a wholesale optical lens representative for Essilor Optical Company. Lorraine moved from Atlanta to Greenville, South Carolina, with Essilor and i was there that she met and married Marion Durham, with whom she enjoyed the last 32 happy years of her life. After leaving Essilor, she worked as an optician at the BMW plant in Greer, SC, fitting safety eyewear for BMW employees.
Nothing was more important to Lorraine than her faith. She was raised in the Catholic faith, but she loved attending Bible study groups. From birth until her last breath, she never doubted that God held her in the palm of His hand.
Lorraine was predeceased in death by her parents, son Thomas M. Lyon of Atlanta, brothers Raymond J. Colucci and Stephen M. Colucci of Canton, and nephew Zachary H. Morgan of Tucson, AZ. She is survived by her husband, Marion, son Timothy S. Lyon of Greenville, sister Phyllis Morgan (husband Anthony and son Wyatt) of Tucson, Arizona, step daughter Mequita Durham Bailey of Greenville, daughter-in-law Carol Lyon Zimny of Monroe, Georgia, grandsons Christopher Lyon (Lindsay) and Michael Lyon (Hayley) of Monroe and great grandchildren.
Services for Lorraine will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, with a service to follow in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Committal will take place immediately after in the park.
