

Lorraine (nee Johnson) was born on February 7, 1923, in Stillman Valley Illinois. She went to be with her Lord on August 6, 2025. She was raised on a traditional farm with her 5 siblings including an identical twin “Lucille”. She has outlived all of her family. Lorraine taught at a one room schoolhouse before studying violin at Bob Jones where she became first chair in the orchestra. She married her beloved husband, Rev. David Marshall, who predeceased her. The couple was married for 55 years and had four children. They lived in Ridgewood NJ where he served as head pastor of Grace Church for 38 years. They retired first to Cape Cod, Mass before moving to Rolling Green Village in Greenville, South Carolina. .
Lorraine enjoyed playing tennis and loved crafting. She loved singing in the choir and teaching the children of the church. She devoted much of her time substitute teaching in local schools in Ridgewood, NJ. Her time at RGV was filled with a lot of music and many fun activities.
As her health declined, she moved from her home to Assisted Living. The staff loved how she was always content with her situation and shared her faith regularly.
Lorraine leaves behind her four children: Bruce A. Marshall, and spouse Alice; Judith Adare and spouse James; John Marshall and spouse Osa and Lawrence; (Larry) Marshall. Seven grandchildren and 12 great grands.
Services for Lorraine are open to family and friends at Graceland East Memorial Park.
