Luree "Mook" Blassingame

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Blassingame, brother, William Blassingame Jr., sister, Emma Dendy, and daughter-in-law, Laura Blassingame.

Luree spent 17 years working for Celanese where she met many friends and eventually retired from Fabri-Kal. She was a member of New Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

She was a devoted and loving mother, grand-mother, sister, and aunt, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Luree is survived by her two children, Fredrick Blassingame of Simpsonville, SC and Joyce Gowens of Greenville, SC; four grandchildren, Anthony Gowens (Renee), Kimberly McKinney (Darrell), both of Greenville, SC, Jaretta Love of Tampa, FL, and Jasmine Blassingame of Columbia, SC; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two special nieces, Jacqueline “Abby” Dendy and Sonya Smith (Vardry); one nephew William Reeder; one god-daughter, Linda Woodard; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to acknowledge and give a special thank you to Darrell Jackson, Alice Green, and Wanda Gossett for the love and support they showed Luree.

Services for Luree will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial, 1 Pine Knoll Drive Greenville, SC 29609. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 1:30 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place after the funeral at Greenville Memorial Gardens, 7784 Augusta Rd, Piedmont, SC 29673.
