Mark attended Greenville High where he was a proud member of the Navy ROTC. He completed an associate’s degree at Ashworth College. Mark was a talented singer who enjoyed writing songs and performing as part of the band Infinity for several years.
Mark enjoyed cooking, especially for his family, and was in the food service industry for over 25 years where he was the general manager at Ord's of Greenwood, SC and held other managerial positions during his career. He was formerly employed by Holder Electric for over 9 years.
He loved playing golf, and watching football with his dad, especially his Gamecocks.
Devoted to his family and friends, Mark always chose to see the glass half full. Even in his most trying days, he kept his witty sense of humor and never let a day pass without saying I Love You.
He was predeceased by a son Kyle Daniel Moon; paternal grandparents Bub and Gladys Roberts Moon and maternal grandparents Daniel and Frances Ballew.
He is survived by his parents, James and Linda Ballew Moon; brother James Moon, Jr. (Susan), sister Candi Moore (David); nieces Kati McCall (Rob), Jessica Moon as well as great nieces Autum and Maddie McCall.
Services for Mark will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Dr. Greenville, SC 29609. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. The family will be at the home following a private burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mark's honor to St. Jude Children's Hospital, PO Box 50 Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
