Marty, known for his radiant smile and deep love for his wife, was born June 19th, 1937, to Herman and Roberta (Shoger) Levenson in Aurora Illinois. He grew up in Chicago and attended the University of Illinois, Champaign. He was in the US Army Reserve for 6 years.
His career was with Kelly Temporary Services where he rose to Regional Vice President in Houston, Texas. Other markets served included Wall Street, NYC, and Phoenix. After he left Kelly, he returned to Phoenix, Arizona where he attended New Vision Center for Spiritual Living in Scottsdale. He also enjoyed several different retirement jobs including Hot Air Expeditions and the Mayo Clinic.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa Levenson Rosen, husband Kenny and their son Sammy Rosen of California and son Scott Levenson, wife Nikole and her daughter Natalia of Arizona. His wife of 23 years, Maryanna and he moved to Taylors, SC when they were finally ready to retire 10 years ago to be close to her daughter, Jeanne Brown and family. She also has a son, Jeff Spitler and family.
Once settled in SC Marty discovered OLLI@Furman. His love of learning kicked into high gear and he took many classes on his own and others with Maryanna where they made many friends. Marty’s warm smile and infectious laughter brightened the lives of everyone he met. He will be remembered for his generous heart, dedication to family traditions, and the simple joy he found in the company of dogs. His spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him. Both Lisa and Kenny are University of Texas graduates and Marty developed a love of college football, specifically the Texas Longhorns became his hobby.
A celebration of Marty's Life will be held later this year. Memorials in his honor can be sent to FootHills Golden Retriever Rescue, Inc., FHGRR.com or New Vision Center for Spiritual Living, newvisioncsl.org
