Born July 28, 1916 in Piedmont, South Carolina to William Edgar and Henrietta Bennett Owens, Mary was the widow of Dwight Pace, who was the love of her life and husband for 53 years.
She is survived by loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.
She was a graduate of Draughon’s Business School and later became the first woman to ever be employed by the construction company Morris and McCoy, where she worked for 43 years.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Greenville.
Mary’s funeral service will be held January 17, 2015 at 4 o’clock in the Chapel of The Mackey Mortuary officiated by Dr. Baxter Wynn, her minister and friend.
One hour prior to the service friends will be received.
