

Catherine was born in Porterdale, Georgia to Ralph and Lorene Wells on April 19, 1937. She lived a life grounded in faith, love, and devotion to her family. She trusted in the promises of God and found strength and peace through her faith, which guided her throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-four years, Ivey Glenn Summerlin; her younger brother; her daughter-in-law, Patty Summerlin; her grandson, Tyler Summerlin; and her great-grandson, Sawyer Summerlin.
She is survived by her sisters, Sharon Fooks and Bobbie Holland (Bob); her sister-in-law, Dellama Brown; her sons, Mitchell, Nathan (Gail), and Travis (Debbie); daughters, Loraine Kish (Steve) and Selita Summerlin-Long (Angie); 20 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great blessing in her life.
Her legacy is one of hard work, creativity, and appreciation for God’s creation, shown through her love of crocheting, ceramics, and gardening. Though she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the assurance that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones, and dwelling in the presence of her Lord.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Morningside Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina.
