Maxie Ray Prince, 81, of Albany, GA died Friday, Aug. 2, 2014. Born in Edgefield County he had resided in Albany, GA since 1997 moving from Nashville, GA. He was retired from AMOCO Textiles as manager of specialty products. He had served in the National Guard during the Korean War and was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include two sons, Ray E. Prince (Ilene), Leesburg, GA, Timothy P. Prince (Julie), Sandy Springs, GA, special friend, Joan Nobles, Toccoa, GA; three brothers, William Edgar and Ned Prince all of Edgefield, SC; a sister, Bess Tripp, Edgefield, SC two grandchildren, Paige Swearingen of Thomasville, GA and Kendra Fulford, Kennesaw, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine R. Prince. Services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014 at The Mackey Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Ken Kessler. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
