She was born in Ridgeley, W. Va. to the late James William Ott and Cecelia Catherine Fisher Ott.
Millie was saved in her teen years, perhaps the first in her family. She always had a love for teaching and for missions. Her teaching career started as a missionary teacher at a Methodist girls home in Georgia. She also taught in her former high school.
After marrying Robert Watson, she moved to Michigan in 1956. She taught early elementary in Van Dyke (MI) Public Schools for nearly thirty years. With a heart for missions, she desired to be a missionary to China, but God placed her in the mission field of education. She was known to pick up on the special needs of her students and give them the help needed.
Her home was always open to visitors and water could be added to the chili pot. She received great joy in sending teens to the mission field. Millie was well loved by all who knew her and will be remembered fondly.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda K. Watson of Greenville; sons, Gordon Watson and wife Joyce of Cyril, Oklahoma and Don Watson and wife Karen of Burton, Mich.; grandchildren, Christopher Michael, Jonathan David Watson of Cyril, Oklahoma, Janelle Katherine and Micah Donald Watson of Burton, Mich.; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Ott of Fairfield, Conn. and Evelyn Ott of Timberville, Va.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her siblings and her husband, Robert Gordon Watson in 1994.
