
Born in Greenville she was the daughter of the late J.C. Hopkins and Louise S. Hopkins.
Nancy graduated from Greenville High School in 1956. She attended Furman University, Converse College and was a graduate of Draughon’s Business School. Nancy began as a medical secretary at Liberty Life Insurance Company and spent most of her career working alongside her husband with The WLB jr Co.
Her most notable work and the highlight of her career were the 20 years she spent volunteering in the clinic at Shriners Hospital for Children. She was a sustaining member of The Junior League of Greenville, a charter member of The Metropolitan Club and a member of the Carolinian Debutante Club. She was also a member of numerous historical societies including The National Society Magna Charta Dames and Daughters of The American Revolution.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of fifty-five years, William Lowe Brigham Jr.; her son, William Lowe Brigham III (Amber) of Roswell, Ga.; her daughter Eleanor Brigham Wall (George Hampton) of Newport News, Va.; and six grandchildren, Jim Brigham, Ben Brigham, Will Brigham, Brigham Wall, Anne-Hampton Wall, and Banks Wall.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 2:00pm at Fourth Presbyterian Church where she was a lifelong member. Reverend Patricia Gwinn will be officiating.
Private entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00pm at The Mackey Mortuary.
