

Born April 24, 1932 in Hoytville, OH, he was the son of the late Percie Ray and Chloe Shook Karns. Before his retirement he worked as a supervisor for 40 years at Union Carbide/BP Amoco.
Paul served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was on the 38th parallel when the treaty was signed. He was also a member of First Presbyterian Church and was active in the Agape Fellowship.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 66 years are a son, Dr. Dan Karns of Gaffney, SC; a daughter, Nancy K. Adams of Greenville, SC; a sister, Marylyn Karns Solt; five grandchildren, Ben Karns (Breanna), Andy Karns, Sam Karns, Phil Adams (Kalyn) and Kelly Adams; and six great grandchildren, Isabelle Adams, Noah Adams, Finn Karns, Sophie Karns, Sarah Katherine Adams and Walker Paul Adams.
In addition to his parents Paul was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Karns and Ronald Karns; and three sisters, Bernice Alge, Garnet Patterson and Ledra Davis.
His hobbies were woodworking in earlier years and his beautiful yard, where he loved to spend time. His greatest loves were for God, his family and his country.
The family will receive friends on October 23, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church at 200 W Washington Street, Greenville, SC 29601 from 10:00 am until 10:45 am. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am in the Harper Chapel.
