Born in Sparta, Greece, he was the son of George and Stavroula Stathakos. He was preceded in death by his wife Litsa B. Stathos in 2003.
Mr. Stathos was self-employed and owned the Pete’s Drive-In of Easley. He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral and had served in AHEPA.
Surviving are his son, Jimmy Stathos; his daughter, Anna Hontzeas Stathos; a daughter-in-law, Julie Stathos; a son-in-law, Yiotis Hontzeas; two brothers, Jimmy Stathos of Myrtle Beach and Gus Stathos of Calabash, NC; and three grandchildren, Tony Hontzeas, Pete Stathos and Litsa Stathos.
Services will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral with Father Tom Pistolis officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at The Mackey Mortuary on Century Drive, with a Trisagion Service at 7 pm.
