Mrs. Rhogene Ann Smith

Rhogene lived her last years at Brookdale Gardens in Hendersonville, NC. She became quite popular with the residents and was even considered a hero for saving a neighbor’s life. Rhogene was born in Latimer Iowa on February 2, 1941. She was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Lydia Muhlenbruck. Best known for her frugalness and desire to repurpose everything, she loved to watch NFL football and NASCAR and spend time with her family.

Surviving are her son, Richard Salais (Terry), daughter, Lisa Salais and partner Scott, Son, Michael Salais (Donna) and grandchildren, Michael, Lydia and Daniel Salais, sisters, Carol Lubkeman (Ken) and Donna Tropp (David) and several nieces and a nephew.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Don Smith and her companion of 16 years, Gary DuSavage.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 at Greenville Memorial Gardens, 7784 Augusta Rd, Piedmont, SC 29673.
