Richard Buckley Jacques, 26, of 214 Chapman Road passed away on April 30.
He was the son of Dr. Richard Glenn Jacques and Mary Jane Gilbert Jacques, and was born on Aug. 8, 1988, in Greenville County.
He is survived by his parents, his sisters Lauren Jacques Cox (Richard) and Amy Jacques Greenhaus (Michael), his niece Caroline Calhoun Cox, and his grandmother Margaret Donovan Gilbert. He was predeceased by his grandfather Dr. John Thomas Gilbert Jr., his grandfather Dr. Robert Samuel Jacques and his grandmother Mary Jane Beall Jacques.
Buckley graduated from Christ Church Episcopal School in 2007. He received a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from the University of South Carolina in 2011. He also received a post-graduate associate’s degree in graphic design from the Art Institute of Charlotte in 2013.
He was employed as a technical buyer by ZF Friedrichshafen AG in Gray Court and was also a member of the Delta Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Buckley was known for his amazing sense of humor, his love of life and his adventurous spirit. He was very artistic and enjoyed traveling, history, computer arts, drawing, design and storytelling.
He had a passion for playing basketball and was an avid North Carolina Tarheels fan. Buckley loved his job, spending time with his friends, and playing with his baby niece and his dogs.
Friends are invited to visit the family at the residence from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 2.
There will be a private graveside service on Sunday, May 3.
