Richard Arnold Seeley

Richard (Dick) Seeley, 86, of Greenville, SC went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2026. He was born in Eau Claire, WI on March 16, 1941. He was a graduate of Calumet High School (Gary, IN) and joined the Marine Corp after high school serving in the far east. After serving 5 years in Marine Corp, he got both is undergraduate and graduate degrees at Bob Jones University (BJU). Dick dedicated most of his life to teaching young people.

While in the Marine Corp, he married Lois (Blink) Seeley and they were married 64 years. Together they raised 4 children who gave them immense joy and pride. Their family grew to include 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

After college, Dick and Lois moved their growing family to Raleigh, NC where he served as a high school principal at Wake Christian for 10 years, and then moved to Oxford, MI to be the Administrator of Oxford Christian Academy. In 1986, they relocated to Greenville, SC to teach at Bob Jones Academy. Dick worked until retirement for the BJU press authoring several text books.

Dick is survived by his wife Lois, 4 children (David/Kim, Donald/Ashley, Dwight/Amy, Diane/Mark), sister Beverly and step brothers (Dale, Bob, Donald) and step sisters (Sharon, Fran).

Dick was an active member at Heritage Bible Church and served as a deacon and elder for over 18 years. Outside teaching and church, Dick was passionate about woodworking making furniture for their home.

Although deeply missed, Dick left a legacy of love to his family and the countless students he encountered throughout his life. His family is comforted knowing that he is in the presence of his Savior, where there is no pain and suffering.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Heritage Bible Church, 2005 Old Spartanburg Rd, Greer, SC 29650, from 12:00pm until 1:45pm. A funeral service will follow at 2pm.
