Rita Gail Barbee Brown

Rita Gail Barbee Brown, age 65, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2023. She was born in Warner Robins, GA to William Barbee and Lorene Parker Barbee. She grew up in a large family. Rita was funny, vibrant, and very sociable. She was artistic and enjoyed making designer shadow boxes.

Rita was born with a green thumb. She loved plants and flowers. Rita enjoyed music, especially the Beatles. She found pleasure in helping friends and family over the years.

She is survived by her mother, Lorene Parker Barbee; husband, C. Anthony Brown; a wonderful daughter, Barbe Brown Morris and Husband (Joshua); Her Grandchildren: Miller Marie Morris, Madden McCreigh Morris, and Joshua “Monty” Morris; Her Siblings and their spouses: Ron Barbee, Donna Shain, Mary (Steve) Carmen, Diane and (Rick) Heustess, Christine and (John) McCloud, David (Ruth) Barbee, Ruth (Allan) Epps; and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved her family and grandchildren dearly.

A visitation for Rita will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.

A committal service will occur at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.
