He is survived by his beloved wife Kay; son Robert Hrubala Jr.(Suzanne Altamara Weigand), his children Ashley and Tia; son Michael Hrubala (Beth) and their children, Drew, Courtney, and David; daughter Stephanie Boswell(Sean) and their children Walker, Jackson, and Gracie; brother Steve Hrubala(Barbara) brother Ron Hrubala(Peggy); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was born in New York City and graduated from the University of Hartford. He began a twenty-five year career with Owens-Corning Fiberglas in Granville, OH, which included sixteen years as Plant Manager at the Aiken, SC plant. The family then relocated to Greenville where Bob was a founder of SpecFab Services and so began his second career of more than 30 years.
Bob enjoyed many years of travel around the world with Kay, sailing on the lake, golfing with his boys at Palmetto Golf Club, Hilton Head Beach trips with his family, and meeting new friends. Bob loved to share his wisdom, life stories and a good joke. Those who met him were sure to remember his firm handshake and genuine smile. He will be missed by all who loved him.
Family will receive friends Wednesday evening, May 9, 2018 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive, 311 Century Drive, Greenville, SC. 29607.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the sanctuary at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 35 Shannon Drive, Greenville, SC.
