Bob was born in Milford, Delaware on July 24, 1957, and lived in Georgia and New Jersey before moving with his family to the Asheville, NC area, where he attended and graduated from Ben Lippen School. The family then moved to Greenville, SC, where he graduated from Bob Jones University. While at Bob Jones, he met his future wife, Carol, who he married in 1979. He taught for a year at Mitchell Road Christian Academy and also worked at Sam Wyche Sports World. They later moved to Charlotte, NC, and then to Graham, NC for his job with Carolina Retail Packaging/Max Pack, where he has worked as a salesman for the past 31 years.
Bob is survived by his wife, Carol (nee Young), and two sons – Jonathan (Kat) of Durham and Bradley (Cyndie) of Burlington, 6 grandchildren: Shepherd, Eva, Adeline, Sullivan, Luke and Mary Love Prentice, a sister, Carol Prentice, of Simpsonville, a niece, father-in-law and mother-in-law, and 4 cousins. He was a gentle, godly prayer warrior who will be greatly missed.
The funeral service will be held at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Dr., Greenville, SC 29609 on Monday, December 28th, at 3:00 pm, with burial immediately following in the Woodlawn Memorial Park.. The family will receive visitors for an hour prior to the service.
A memorial service for Bob will be held at Grace Reformed Baptist Church in Mebane NC, where Bob was an elder, on Wednesday December 30th, at 7:00p.m. Both services will be livestreamed.
