Sara Maxine Hudson, 87, of Columbia, IL and formerly of Greenville, passed away on May 19, 2014. Born in Greenville on September 17, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Carl and Ollie Boswell Guest. Sara married the late Lt. Commander James E. Hudson, US Navy, Retired on August 25, 1950. He passed away March 24, 1995. Sara is survived by her daughter Debra (Michael) Harres of Millstadt, IL, her grandchildren Nathan (Laura) Harres, Jordan (Amanda) Harres and Hannah Harres, and her sister Norma Jean Turner of Greenville. She was preceded in death by her sisters Mary “Dade” Burns, Frances “Pat” Finley and Dorothy “Dot” Shepherd and her brother William Guest. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:30am in the Remembrance Chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Legion Post 3, 430 North Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601.
