Shirley Dean Parkhill, wife of James (Jim) E. Parkhill, Sr., passed away Saturday. Born in Greenville and grew up in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late Creston W. and Margert Jones Dean, Sr. She was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church and was a retired receptionist for Piedmont Overhead Door. Surviving beside her husband is a daughter, Terri Parkhill; a son, James E. and his wife, B. J. Parkhill, Jr.; grandchildren, Major Elisha Nicole Parkhill and her husband, LtCol Travis Brownlow and Zachariah Austin Parkhill, Jared Evan Barnett, Johnny, Jason and Jeff Scott. She was predeceased by a brother, Creston W. Dean, Jr. Services will be held 11 am Wednesday in The Mackey Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held from 9:45 to 10:45 am.
