Vera Hembree Balloch, 88, of Mauldin, died Sunday, July 13, 2014. Born in Spartanburg County, she was a graduate of WLT High School, attended Draughon’s Business College, was a retired office manager, and a member of Messiah Lutheran Church of Mauldin. She was the widow of James Balloch Jr. Survivors: son, Jim Balloch III of Knoxville, TN.; sister, Ila Mae Rainey of Clover, SC; several nieces and nephews. The ashes of her beloved cat “Sheba” will be encrypted with her.
Receiving of friends will take place at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Greenville, SC at 12:00 pm on Thursday, July 17, 2014 with Graveside services immediately following at 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park Serenity Mausoleum. It was her request that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greenville Humane Society or a charity of choice.
