

Virginia Thompson Moore was born January 14, 1916 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of George and Linda Dwiggins Thompson. She passed away peacefully August 1, 2015 in Greenville, South Carolina. She is preceded in death by her husband Otis Prentiss Moore and daughter Anne Prentiss Moore and her two sisters. Surviving are her son Walter Bruce Moore and his wife Carroll of Greenville, her daughter Virginia Moore Teed and her husband Roderick of Hilton Head, grandsons Walter Bruce Moore, Jr (Lynn) and Duncan Stafford Teed (Claire), Thomas S. Cromer, Jr. (Jessica) granddaughters, Jennifer Moore Teed and Elizabeth Moore Luther (Ric) and five great-grandchildren. She also has numerous nieces and nephews. She moved to Greenville when she was in her early twenties and met her husband, Otis. Though she loved the South, she remained loyal to her birth state Nebraska. Virginia was active in the First Presbyterian Church, the Junior League and was a founding member of the Monday Book Club. She was a member of the Greenville Debutante Club and The Daughters of the American Revolution. She played an active role with her grandchildren and was a fantastic storyteller throughout her life. She loved her time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Caris Hospice. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11:00am at Springwood Cemetery.
