William Curtis Rush, 73, lifelong resident of Greenville, South Carolina and currently residing in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, husband of Elaine Willis Cook and the late Cecilia Sims Rush, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020.
Born in Greenville, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Seaborn Curtis Rush and Emma Virginia Brice Rush. Mr. Rush was an accountant and small business owner, and a member of Airport Baptist Church in Greer. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels for Greer Community Ministries. He was a Charter Member of Pelham Lodge #423 and a Past Master and Current Member of Recovery Lodge #31. He proudly served our country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, and he also graduated from Lander University.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, William Curtis Rush, Jr. and his wife Kimberly Elizabeth Rice Rush of Simpsonville, South Carolina; a brother, John Seaborn Rush of Greenville, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Thomas David Rush and Betsy Jane Rush of Simpsonville, South Carolina; two step-sons, Mark Willis and his wife Linda Willis of Raleigh, North Carolina and David Willis and his wife Shannon Willis of Marvin, North Carolina; and four step-grandchildren, Ashley Willis of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Jordan Willis, Jackson Willis, and Grace Willis all of Marvin, North Carolina.
In addition to his first wife, he is preceded in death by his son, David Sims Rush.
William will lie in state from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
