William R Russell

William Rudolph Russell 89, went home to be with Jesus on December 2, 2020 after a brief illness. Born in Oconee County, SC. He is the son of the late Dexter Clarence Russell and Florrie Corine Russell. He had the biggest smile and the best laugh of anyone. He loved sports, good old movies and was always ready to go somewhere. He always made Christmas and Birthdays special and would give his frosty coupons and Susan B. Anthony dollars to everyone! He loved a good hot dog and had a sweet tooth for sweets.

He was a proud Korean veteran and served from 1950 - 1955. He was a longtime member of the Korean War Veterans and American Legion Associations. He was the business owner of Russell’s Heating and Air Conditioning for over 40 years and retired at the age of 80! He was believer in Christ and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. He was the loving husband to his late wife Nancy Margaret Russell for 50 years. He leaves behind five children: Dennis, David (Lisa), Donnie (Sherri), Laura (John) and Nancy (Todd). He was a wonderful Grandfather and Great Grandfather to many Grands. He is survived by his loving sisters Joan Kuemmerer, Rose Shirley and Laura (Ben) Murdock and he is preceded in death by Hazel Powell and Becky Rogers. He also leaves behind his wife of four and half years, Jean Grant Russell of Walhalla SC.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm on Saturday, December 12th, Funeral Service at 1 pm Mackey at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville. Burial will take place at Greenville Memorial Gardens. Thank you to everyone who took care of our Daddy and for all those who prayed!
