Born in Brooklyn, New York, Lee was the daughter of Michael and Anna Scaringella. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn, and married her high school sweetheart at the age of 19. After raising three children, Lee attended Pace University in Pleasantville, New York, earning her bachelor’s degree in education, an accomplishment of which she was quite proud.
She played many roles in helping her husband launch his medical practice, and later served as the medical office administrator for her husband’s and son’s successful interventional cardiology practice at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York.
Lee enjoyed traveling, the arts, cooking and skiing. But most of all she enjoyed anything that placed her in the company of family and friends. She was a loving and supportive wife and mother, a doting grandmother and great grandmother and an intensely loyal friend.
Lee is survived by her husband, Stephen, her sister, Rose, her three sons, Stephen, Jr., Ronald and Eric, their spouses, Danielle, Carolyn and Judy, her eight grandchildren, Nicole Underwood (and husband Scott), Alex, Andrew, Michael, Caileigh, Christian, Christina and Caroline, and great grandson, Daniel Underwood.
