Carol was the daughter of the late Harold Miles Logan and the late Helen Gibbons Logan, growing up in Bridgeport, CT. After obtaining her associate degree from the University of Bridgeport, Carol moved to New York City to begin her career. There, she met the love of her life -Thomas ‘Mac’ Johnson. They were married, and a few months after the birth of their daughter Lisa, moved to Nimitz Place in Old Greenwich. There they made many lifelong friends. After son Chris was born, Carol and Mac needed more room and moved to Hearthstone Drive, where more lifelong friends were made.
At the Greenwich Country Club, Mac and Carol encouraged the kids to join the swim team, where Carol was a great swim team Mom for years, attending meets and volunteering as a timer and record keeper. Swim Coach George ‘Skip’ Lehmann had just started his career at the club, and over the years, his family became Carol and Mac’s adopted family. Skip, Anne and their three sons were dear, caring, loving friends to Carol to the end of her life.
As Chris and Lisa went to high school and college, Carol went back to work as an Executive Administrative Assistant at several Greenwich firms, where she enjoyed her work immensely. After her beloved husband Mac passed, Carol retired and downsized from Hearthstone Drive, making her final move to Lansing Meadows in Cos Cob. There, she met many kind and helpful neighbors over the years.
Carol was a dedicated volunteer and Board member for Hill House for many years, as well as volunteering for the local Garden Club.
The family would like to especially thank Carol’s many kind physicians, Constellation Hospice, and her extremely caring and loving caregivers.
Carol is survived by daughter Lisa Kane of Maine, son Chris Johnson, granddaughter Erin Johnson, Chris’ wife Rachel, and stepchildren Isaiah and Miel, all of California - and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no service per Carol’s request.
Please consider making a memorial donation in Carol’s memory to Hill House, 10 Riverside Ave. Riverside Ct 06878.
