

Courtney Watson, 47, of Stamford passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013. He was born in Jamaica and raised in Greenwich. Courtney was a graduate of Greenwich High School and later received his Associates Degree from Westchester Business Institute. As a young man, Courtney earned his Eagle Scout badge as a member of the famed Troop 6 in Greenwich. Additionally leisure time was enjoyed amongst friends and his adoring little brother at the Greenwich Boys Club, where he worked as a counselor and at The Community Centers, Inc. of Greenwich (CCI). In his adult years, Courtney most enjoyed his position and experience as the Purchasing Manager at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich. During his tenure which spanned more than two decades, Courtney developed lasting relationships with his many friends and colleagues that affectionately referred to him as “bear.” In his final days, his heart may have surrendered, but his impact on our lives continues forever. Courtney is survived by his loving Mother, Jennifer Chambers of Greenwich, his daughter Lonita, his sister Sharon Brown, his brother Michael Chambers of Stamford, his sister Sonia Woolery of Riverside, his sister Angela Chambers of Manhattan, his nephews Max and Kirk, nieces Bryttani and Briana, Aunt Pansy Brown, many family members in Jamaica, loving friends Wayne Thompson, Desmond Blake, Henry Moye and obedient buddy, Pepper.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 20th at 2:00pm at Presbyterian Church of Old Greenwich, 38 West End Avenue, Old Greenwich, CT 06870.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in his name to Community Centers, Inc of Greenwich at 61 East Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, CT 06830, the Greenwich Boys and Girls Club, 4 Horseneck Lane, Greenwich, CT 06830 or in lieu of a monetary donation performing an act for someone less fortunate and in need of a smile.
