

The Gallagher family moved to Scarborough, New York in 1966. After graduation from Ossining High School, Gail earned a BA from Syracuse University. She was a member and President of the Delta Delta Delta sorority where she made many lifelong friends.
Gail had a career as a financial planner at TIAA/CREF. She then dedicated herself to volunteer work in her long time hometown of Greenwich, where she served on the Board of Neighbor to Neighbor for over twenty years, serving as Vice President for more than 10. In addition , she founded and chaired their development effort.
Gail has been a member of the Green Fingers Garden Club since 2015, also serving on their board in various positions. She joined L.O.S.T.S. (Last of the Small Time Spenders), a group of female investors, in 2019, and has served on their board since 2021.
Gail was known for her love of dogs and worked with many canine organizations over the years. She fostered a series of dogs through Adopt-A-Dog and went on to find them all loving homes.
Joining Indian Harbor Yacht Club in 2017, Gail hosted family and spent time with friends on many happy occasions there, being a master of the social side of race nights. Bridge was very important in Gail’s life and she enjoyed a weekly bridge game for over 20 years with a loyal group of a dozen women.
Gail is survived by her mother, her brother Carl Gallagher (Kathleen) of Tiverton, RI, and sister Robin Hoffman (Matthew) of Stamford CT, four nieces, Kimberly Navins (John), Natick, MA, Elizabeth Atsalis (John), Bronxville, NY, Kelsey Bodie (Michael), Charlotte, NC, and Marina Hoffman, Denver, CO, and two nephews, Robert Gallagher (Emily), Brookline, MA and Brant Hoffman, Cambridge, MA, and two great-nieces and one great-nephew.
