

Isabelle Healey Bacon, 84, passed away in Greenwich, CT on Saturday, September 17, 2016, surrounded by her children. Isabelle was born on July 7, 1932 and was the daughter of Harold F. Healey and Mary J. Healey. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Edward M. Bacon Jr., and her sister Frances M. Hannan. Isabelle was born in Larchmont, NY and moved to Greenwich in 1959. She graduated from St. Gabriel's High School in New Rochelle and from the College of New Rochelle in 1953. She married Edward M. Bacon Jr. on June 16, 1956. After bringing up their four children, Isabelle worked in the Middle School Office of Greenwich Academy. Following that, she worked alongside good friends at Hoaglands on Greenwich Avenue and then the Women's Exchange on Sherwood Place. She was a long time parishioner at Holy Cross Church in Vero Beach, FL and St. Michael the Archangel Church in Greenwich, CT, where she taught CCD. Isabelle and Ed sponsored the education of a young woman who graduated from Cathedral High School in the Archdiocese of New York City via the Inner-City Scholarship Fund in 2012. Isabelle continues to sponsor another young woman at Cathedral currently in the 8th grade. While living in Vero Beach, she volunteered for the "Pet Therapy" program at the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County where she escorted dogs to visit the elderly in area nursing homes. Isabelle was a consummate caregiver, spending many hours with her beloved grandchildren who brought her much pride, joy and happiness. Isabelle is survived by her sister Mary Louise Brown, sons: E. Michael Bacon (Leslie) and Thomas H. Bacon (Katie) of Greenwich; daughters: Cary Bacon Winslow (Paul) of Far Hills, NJ and Beth Bacon Blaber (Stephen) of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren: Hannah Bacon, Meryl, Keelin and Ian Winslow, Patrick, Eilis, Brigit and Aisling Bacon-Blaber, Mary, Emily, Tom and Teddy Bacon and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home; 31 Arch Street in Greenwich on Tuesday, September 20, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated on Wednesday, September 21 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel on North Street in Greenwich, CT. Burial will follow at Putnam Cemetery, 35 Parsonage Rd., Greenwich.
