Karina Saari

Karina Elizabeth Saari, 37, died Tuesday evening, July 24, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Greenwich , CT , on May 10, 1975, and is survived by her father and mother, Len and Yanna Saari of Riverside , CT ; her sister, Allison Saari (Josh) Byrne of Boston, MA; and her beloved dog, Dune. Karina attended Greenwich Public Schools , Choate Rosemary Hall, Middlebury College , Rhode Island School of Design and SUNY Purchase. Throughout her life she was an enthusiastic participant in team sports, among which were lacrosse, field hockey, squash, tennis, basketball, ice hockey, swimming and softball. She also loved skiing, horseback riding, golf and singing. Most recently she was a member of a USTA tennis team. She will be remembered by her many friends and co-workers at CPG Architects, Stamford , for her ready smile, thoughtfulness and artistic flair. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 25th, at 11:00am at First Congregational Church of Greenwich, 108 Sound Beach Avenue Old Greenwich.
