May 27, 2013. His death came after a long fought battle with multiple sclerosis.
Raymond was born on July 11, 1939 in Port Chester, New York to Eileen (Mulvaney) Leary of Lecanto, Florida and the late William A. Leary. He graduated from Port Chester High School and joined the U.S. Coast Guard. Upon an honorable discharge he was then a member of the Allied Workers Local 91; Raymond was the owner of RWI until he had to take an early retirement. He was a dedicated volunteer in the Washington Park Fire Company for over forty years until his illness prevented service. He was an active participant in the building of the new Saint Paul’s R.C. Church on Sherwood Ave. and believed deeply in his faith.
On November 23, 1963 he married Cecelia Ann Drury of White Plains. She survives him along with their children, Eileen (Charles) Rich of Georgia, Michael of Armonk, Patrick of NYC and Kathleen (Richard) Mathes of Ridgefield, CT. He is also survived by his very loving grandchildren Sarah, Katie and Kimberly Rich, Matthew and Jack Leary, and Richard, Andrew and John Mathes, his brother and sister-in-law William and Donna Leary of Florida and many nieces and nephews, his cousins Susan and Patty Covino of Port Chester who were more like sisters.
