Robert Raymond FitzRoy, 73, passed away February 28, 2024, at his home in Cos Cob, Ct. He was a lifelong resident of Greenwich born September 8, 1950, to Robert A FitzRoy and Thelma Hecker FitzRoy. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Elizabeth FitzRoy, his daughter Jessica FitzRoy Leathem, son-in-law John Leathem, and grandson Brady Leathem. He is also survived by his sister, Linda FitzRoy Sywak and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and favorite Uncle, Raymond Hecker.
Robert was a 1968 graduate of Greenwich High School and pursued a career as a maintenance mechanic with a specialty in HVAC. He retired from the Town of Greenwich Board of Education. Robert was a member of the Redmen’s and a Freemason. He will be remembered for his wry sense of humor and storytelling.
A visitation for Robert will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich, Connecticut 06830. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St Michael the Archangel Church, 469 North Street, Greenwich, Connecticut. Interment to immediately follow at St Mary's Cemetery, 399 North Street, Greenwich, Connecticut.
