
She was born in New York to Joseph and Elizabeth Drucker. She is a graduate of Our Lady of Wisdom Academy in Ozone Park. She graduated from St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing (NYC) as a Registered Nurse and went on to be a stewardess for Eastern Airlines. She was very proud of both careers, but most proud of her role as wife and mother.
She married Robert J. Preis in 1948 and raised 5 children in Forest Hills Gardens, NY, where they lived for 23 years, moving to Greenwich, CT in 1979. They were members of Innis Arden Golf Club where Rosemary played much tennis and golf. She and Bob also traveled frequently. Since 1965 she enjoyed many happy times with her family at her Candlewood Knolls, her lake home in New Fairfield, CT.
She is survived by her children Elizabeth and husband Larry Driever of Ridgewood, NJ, David Preis and wife Carol of Stewart Manor, NY, Deborah and husband Tom Barton of Dallas, TX, Mary Lou and husband Tom Shippee of Wethersfield, CT, and Roberta and husband Karl Anderson of Riverside, CT, and sister Ruth Drucker of Forest Hills, NY. She was known as “Mimi” to her 15 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bob, in 2008 and her brother, Dr. John Drucker in 2013.
Visitation will be at Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home in Greenwich, October 27th, 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on October 28th, 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Riverside, CT. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery in Middle Village, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research in memory of Rosemary Preis.
