Born in New York, NY, she was the beloved wife of the late Peter Palakian. She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Forzaglia, Lisa Marsili and Rose Palakian as well as their spouses, Anthony Forzaglia and Albert Marsili. She is also survived by her granddaughter Kristina and her husband Christopher and grandson Stephen and two great grandchildren, Charlotte and Benjamin. Sima is also survived by her loving sister Martha Samuelian of Palm Harbor, Fl.
Sima began her work career with CBS Broadcasting in New York as an administrative assistant. When she and Peter began to raise their family Sima decided to be a stay at home mom. When her daughters were in school she then took on a role as a loving, caring and dedicated paraprofessional with the Yonkers, NY public school system where she worked in Special Education classrooms for twenty five years. She and her husband Peter owned an antique store in Thornwood, NY where she managed their business. Sima was extremely devoted to her church, St. Hagop Armenian Church in Pinellas Park, FL. In her early years while attending Armenian churches in New York, Sima was an active member of the choir where she loved to sing prayer songs. Sima enjoyed her summers with her daughters at their lakefront home in Douglas, ME at Hancock Pond. In 1997 Peter became disabled. They moved to Clearwater, Florida to be near her sister Martha. After Peter’s passing Sima spent many happy years living with her sister. Sima dedicated much of her time and love to Hospice of Florida for nearly 25 years. She was known for her warmth, kindness and dedication to family and friends.
Sima’s life will be celebrated at Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home in Greenwich, CT on Saturday, September 24th from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.
