

William Widmann Klumpp, 83 of Old Greenwich, CT passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010.William was the husband of Margaret Craig Klumpp, his wife of 56 years of Old Greenwich, CT. William W. Klumpp was born on March 19, 1926 to the late Otto Klumpp and Josephine Widmann Klumpp of Cos Cob, CT. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Otto J. Klumpp of Hartsdale, NY.
William was a graduate of University of Bridgeport, class of 1952, he retired from ITT Flygt, Trumbull, CT. as an International Sales Representative in 1996 after 28 years of service. William served with the Army Air force during WWII and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sgt. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Riverside, CT. In his retired years he spent his time volunteering as a Red Baron at Greenwich Hospital, he was a member of the RMA, and served as a former chairman of the Fire Alarm Committee for the Town of Greenwich. He also joined his wife and side by side worked at the New Covenant House in their Soup Kitchen. He was also an avid collector of Lionel “O” gauge trains and loved to set them up with his grandsons and great nephews during the holiday seasons. He was an avid Yankees fan and loved to travel with his wife, Margaret during their retirement years.
William is survived by his beloved children, a son, William W. Klumpp, Jr of San Diego, CA, a daughter, Patricia A. Klumpp also of San Diego, CA and a daughter, Carolyn K. Schmaling and her husband, Scott of Monroe, CT. He is also survived by six adoring grandchildren, Sgt. David S. Schmaling, and his wife Ashley P. Schmaling of Monroe, CT, Andrew C. Schmaling, Margaret M. Schmaling, Catherine A. Schmaling, Theresa E. Schmaling and William C. Schmaling all of Monroe, CT
William is survived by his Great Aunt, Sister Helen Klumpp, FMM of North Smithfield, RI and his by many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.

Calling hours will be Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home at 31 Arch St. Greenwich, CT from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Riverside Ave. Riverside, CT on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date privately with the family.
