Aaron Michael Wagner, 40, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 in Fort Smith. Born on February 22, 1985, in Fort Smith, Aaron was the son of Mike and Pam (Herdison) Wagner. He graduated from Southside High School in 2003 and later attended the University of Arkansas.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Aaron enjoyed playing football, baseball, and basketball throughout his school years. He especially loved football and was part of the Southside team when they won a state championship. He later continued his football career at the University of Arkansas. Aaron also loved golf and fishing, and he especially cherished playing sports with his son, Blake. Most recently, they had taken up playing disc golf.
Aaron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Catherine Wagner and Otis and Shirley Denton.
He is survived by his beloved son, Blake Wagner of Poteau, Oklahoma; his parents, Mike and Pam Wagner; brother, Brent (Ashleigh) Wagner of Amarillo, Texas; his sister, Lynne Wagner of Childress, Texas; nephews, Thomas and Henry Wagner; nieces, Kate and Aubrey Wagner, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.
A memorial service will be held Monday, December 15, at 10 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel, 137 North Main Street, Greenwood, Arkansas with cremation to follow.
Honorary pallbearers will be his cousins, Brian Yocum, Kevin Yocum, Jared Yocum, Chris Reeder, Scott Reeder and Jay Wagner.
