Benny Ray Thompson

Benny Ray Thompson, 81, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was retired from Whirlpool and also the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant having served during the Vietnam War.

Funeral service will be 12 p.m., Monday, May 21 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery with military honors under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Thompson; one son, Nigel Slater of Greenwood; two daughters, Sharon Hankins of Bentonville and Amanda Scott of Mansfield; one brother, J.V. Thompson of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Shelby Cathcart of Beebe and Joyce Gilbert of Booneville; eight grandchildren and one great grandchildren.
