Billie Joe White

Billie Joe White, 80, beloved father, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. He was born May 31, 1930 in Durant, Oklahoma, and is preceded in death by his father, Walter Lee White, his mother, Dora Estelle Fox, and his daughter, Karen Sue Hopper.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Korean War, and member of Mayfair Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. In 2006 he retired from the dry cleaning business and moved to Russellville, where he lived with his son and daughter in law. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by many.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30 at Hartford Memorial Park in Hartford, AR under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. There will be no viewing at the funeral home.

Survivors include one son, Bryan Lee White and wife, Beatrice of Russellville, and two brothers, Claudy Lee White of Tulsa, OK, and Doil Leon White of Gainesville, FL. Mr. White’s legacy will live on through his eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
