Bobbie Corine Slate

Bobbie Corine Slate, 73, of Mansfield, Arkansas passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 in Greenwood. She was born September 20, 1939, the daughter of Lewis and Edna Harrison. She was united in marriage to Carol William Slate on October 6, 1956. They were married for 56 years and together they worked beside each other and owned C.W. Slate Trucking Company. A consummate loving mother and homemaker, Bobbie was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She was a Baptist.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 23 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Huntington Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Slate is survived by her husband, Carol W. Slate; her children, Teresa Milligan and husband, Greg of Fort Smith, Tammie Slate of Mansfield, Cynthia Smith of Mansfield, and Shelly Kent and husband, John of Muldrow; seven loving grandchildren, Dallas Holmes, J.J. Bridges, Jeremy Smith, Megan Shelley, Justin Kent, Logan Dyer and Jordan Kent; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Fay Porter of Mansfield and Kay Crawford of Midland and one brother, Jimmy Harrison and wife, Maria of Midland.

Pallbearers will be Dallas Holmes, J.J. Bridges, Jeremy Smith, Justin Kent, Tim Shelley and Wally Dyer. Honorary pallbearers will be William Slate, Danny Slate, Greg Milligan, John Kent, Carroll Barnes and Bobby Topoleski.
