Brenda Kaye McAllister, 67, of Mansfield, Arkansas peacefully entered the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Baptist Health in Fort Smith. She was born on July 10, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas. Brenda was a devoted mother to her two sons, Arron and Eric McAllister, and a loving Memaw to their children.
Though she faced many struggles, Brenda was a strong and passionate woman in every aspect of her life. She followed in her mother’s footsteps, working for 17 years building small motors at Baldor. In her free time, she enjoyed sipping strong coffee, chatting with her neighbors and talking on the phone with her sons. Brenda lived each day in step with the Lord’s will, spending time in prayer and reading His word. She was raised as a member of Howard Hill Assembly of God (now Vital Church) and often attended Grace Community Church and Community Transformation Church, where her sons serve as worship ministers. (She loved church!)
Brenda’s battle with drugs was no match for the redemptive power of Jesus Christ. In the last year of her life, she celebrated her freedom from addiction and enjoyed a joyful life. She cherished the moments spent loving and cuddling her baby granddaughter and wrestling with her energetic grandson on the trampoline. The love she had for her grandchildren was truly beautiful. Brenda also cherished her relationships with others, always willing to offer the shirt off her back. She made sure no one went hungry.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mary McAllister, her brother, Ronnie McAllister and her sister, Margie Moody. She is survived by her sons, Eric McAllister and his wife, Amelia and Arron McAllister and his wife, Rebekah; grandchildren, Landon and Magnolia; sisters, Donna Sorrell and Shirley Crowe and brother, Rick McAllister.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, December 13 at Grace Community Church in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Thursday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
