Buddy Nelson, 86, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025 in his home. He was born August 1, 1938 in Lucas, Arkansas to James Vernon and Gladys (James) Nelson. He was a retired heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Nelson; one son, Quinton Nelson and spouse, Derek; two daughters, LaDonna Mayville and spouse, Stephen and Katrina Nelson; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Bryan Moore and Kennith Nelson; one daughter, Sheila Moore; one brother, Billy Nelson and four sisters, Lois Organ, Joyce Collyge, Verba Stephens and Jimmie Lee Stlington.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, April 25 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 - 7 p.m.
