

Chester Thomas (Tom) Lang, 79, of Mansfield, Arkansas passed this life on Sunday, August 19, 2012 in his home. He was born October 28, 1932 in Mansfield, Arkansas to Rufus and Nan Lang, who preceded him in death. He was a retired truck driver and over saw Johnny Cake Ranch in Mansfield for 32 years. He was of the Methodist faith.
He was survived by his ex-wife of 46 years, Marian Lang of Sylmar, CA; one son, Tommy Lang and wife, Sally of California City, CA; two daughters, Judith Smith of Delaware, and Debra Morgan and Jeff of Mansfield; ten grandchildren, Michael Smith, Katherine Smith, Nathan Lang, Erin Lang, Sarah Lang, Grady Lang, Jeremy Graves, Jessica Parsons, Tawni Morgan and Colter Morgan; three sisters, Lucille Harp of Mansfield, Thelma Lawson and husband, Don of Booth, and Ruth Golden of Lancaster, CA; two brothers, Jim Lang and Warren Lang both of Mansfield; six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many great friends of a lifetime. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by three sisters, including his twin sister, Esther Harmon, Clara Brown and Pat Wilburn.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 at Buggy Hill Cemetery in Mansfield under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Thursday from 1 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be his two grandsons, Colter Morgan and Nathan Lang, Jason Bagget, Jim Lyons, Bruce Hainley, Jackie Smith and Phil Lowe. Honorary pallbearer will be his granddaughter, Jessica Parsons.
