

Connie Sue Odom, 85, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed from this life Monday, June 6, 2016 in Pink Bud Nursing Home in Greenwood. She was born August 3, 1931 at Milltown, Arkansas to Fred and Vergial Elmore Willsey. Connie lived to work! As a teenager, she worked in berry fields. After graduating from Mansfield High School she went to work for Hill Corporation in Fort Smith where she worked until that factory closed. Then, she worked for a branch of Hill Corporation in Charleston till it closed. Last, she worked for Pink Bud Nursing Home until age 83, when she suffered a broken hip. She was very proud of her work history. She was a member of Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution. She attended church at Milltown Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sister, Iva Hicks and husband, Robert W.; sister-in-law, Gail Willsey; aunt, Dorothy Cochran all of Greenwood; nieces, Kay Nichols, Kathy Jones, Shelia Sockey, and Carmen Brown; nephews, Michael Hicks and Kendall Hicks; several cousins, friends, great nephews and great nieces.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, John Odom; her parents, Fred and Vergial Elmore Willsey; her brother, Ishmael Willsey and niece, Reita King.
Graveside service will be 10 am Saturday, June 11 at Dawson Cemetery in Milltown under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood. Viewing will be Friday from 1-8 pm at the funeral home.
