Oh Doug. I wish I had known you were I'll. You are going to be missed by many, especially me.
Everytime I came into the store, I would always ask for you for I have known you for so many years I knew you would treat me right. If you weren't there, I would come back later when you were.
I remember the day you and I built the PVC wall there in the store on Rogers Ave. I came in working on a project using PVC pipe. I showed you my drawing and asked if you thought it would work. To my surprise, you said let's go find out. We took every piece of pipe, and fittings out of your stock, had to go outside for more and we built the wall there in the store. You turned, looked at me and said, "well, I think it's gonna work don't you? We had other employees as well as customers laughing at what we had done, walking around and through our wall. Needless to say, I bought everything I needed for that wall. That is, after we disassembled everything.
I phoned the store this morning, asked if Doug was there. There was dead silence on the phone for about 5 to 10 seconds and I was then told.
My prayers are with your wife and family during this time and may God hold you in his loving arms for he has received the best man and friend I have had the privilege of knowing.

Doug was always eager to help me with the Yeager Hardware advertising copy when I is was at the Times Record. If Deb or Marie were not available he would stop what he was doing to answer my questions as best as possible until they were free to meet with me.
His kind, compassionate and knowledgeable personality was a joy to work with.

A wonderful family. Doug was a wonderful man - loving,  caring, always thinking about or helping others. He loved his family. Most of our memories are from his childhood but we knew then that he was someone special. The Lord blessed us by being a part of his life and family. Thank you Jesus for that. May God bless his family. We love you all.

Stacy, Betty Carol, Doug, Anne, Kyle and Carol Jean....a family that is  'Top Shelf' who had that endearing quality that everyone wanted to be close to and be able to call friends. This family was my church family growing up and I was very blessed to have them a part of my life. Betty Carol and Stacy were my parents away from home. Anne was one of my bridesmaids. I have sweet memories of these special people. My Dad and Mom have spent endless hours sharing their stories of this family with me throughout the years. Such treasured memories. Laura, I had the privilege of visiting you and Doug on several  occasions when I lived in Spring. Ya'll were so gracious and kind. I can't say enough about this whole family. My heart aches for you, Laura and your children. I know your lives have been so blessed with Doug in it and now blessed with the memories. My prayers are with you all. We are so sorry for your loss. We pray for God to wrap his arms around all of y’all and give you comfort and peace.  We love all y’all. My memory was from our childhood. I remember staying at Aunt Bettys and  Anne and I were in her room and heard a noice outside so we went to the window and Doug jumped up and scared us from outside. We had fun times at our cousins house.

Anne, Carol, Kyle, Doug’s wife & children, I am so sorry for your loss but I know it’s Heaven’s gain. Just knowing Anne & Carol and how sweet they are, I know Doug had to be the same. I enjoyed every moment I spent with Doug, all the talks about my sons and his children I will always remember, the fishing, the hunting and everything in between. I cannot recall a single day I sat in his office at any location  or he came and saw me that he didn’t have a smile and a kind word even when he may not of felt like it l. I will truly will miss him. Doug was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Cooke. He is survived by his wife, Laura Cooke; his two sons, Mac Cooke and wife, Kristen of Conway and Marcus Cooke and wife, Tiffany of Fayetteville; his daughter, Sarah Terry and husband, Patrick of Springdale; two grandchildren, Maren and Rowan; his father, Stacy Cooke and wife, Ann; three siblings, Anne Christian, Carol Mettlen and husband, Jimmy and Kyle Cooke and wife, Ginger and many nieces and nephews, whom he loved deeply.
