Douglas Leonard Payne

Douglas Leonard Payne, 59, of Barling, passed away Monday, August 29 2011 in his home. Doug was born December 10, 1951 in Hawthorne, CA. He graduated from St. Anne’s Academy in 1970, and received his BSBA from the University of Arkansas in 1977. Doug worked as a CPA in public and private practice for over thirty-five years.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; two sons, Corbin Payne and companion, Rhonda Jones of Fayetteville, and Ryan Payne and wife, Courtney of Lowell; one daughter, Anna Reno and husband, Chris of Greenwood; two sisters, Anne Payne and companion, Carlene of Swannanoa, NC, and Verni Jones of Dandridge, TN; two brothers, Virgil Payne, Jr. and wife, Marcie of Mountainburg, and Steve Payne and wife, Teri of Apache Junction, AZ; three grandchildren, Jackson Reno, Brett Payne and Avery Payne; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil, Sr. and Anne Payne.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 2 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Liberty Cemetery. Viewing will be 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Corbin Payne, Ryan Payne, Chris Reno, Bill Corbin, Bill Berger, and Mike Schulte.
